Kargro Banden BV

Worldwide in casings

Kargro Banden BV is a key player in the circular processing of commercial truck tires.

Kargro Banden selects and approves demounted truck-tire casings at tire specialists and transport companies. Casings that are suitable for retreading will be purchased. Alternatively, casings that can no longer be retreaded will be directly transported (at gate fee costs) to our sister company Kargro Recycling. Kargro Recycling subsequently processes scrap tires into granulates and fine powders, which are reused in various applications. In addition, high-quality steel from tires is recovered and sold to iron smelters.

Every day, 18 of our inspectors inspect demounted commercial truck tires on location. Kargro Banden has a 26 EURO 6 truck fleet to transport selected tires in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, and Northern France to the main storage in Montfoort. From the head office in Montfoort, transport activities throughout Europe are supported by an experienced logistics department.

Kargro Banden does not provide its recycling service in other parts of Europe. Quality casings, selected to size and quality, are purchased only through local traders.  Transport in these countries is provided by external contractors.

In the Netherlands, Kargro Banden has two large storage sites, one in Montfoort and one in Emmeloord.  At the central location in Montfoort, quality casings are sorted by brand and size. Following this sorting process, the tires are stored at either the Montfoort or Emmeloord location. All quality casings are sold to worldwide tire specialists and retreading factories. Quality casings are exported, out of our 200.000 quality casing storage, to over 40 countries, where the quality casings are provided with new treads in local retreading factories.

The Kargro Group has its own tire retreading production lines in Montfoort and Nieuwmoer (Belgium).

Subsidiary Banden Plan Europa BV : All retreaded tires are provided with UBO, Bandag, or Marangoni product names. The Kargro Group is affiliated with Bipaver, the European umbrella organisation of the independent tire retreading industry. Thanks to quality retreading, quality casings can last three times as long.

CRS ( Casing Registration System ): Kargro Banden inspects demounted commercial truck tires, on request of customers, using its so-called Casing Registration System (KRS in dutch). This is a unique, independent, cost-saving, and digital processing system for customers of Kargro Banden. The corresponding inspection data provides tire owners, transport companies, and tire specialists with insight into the wear process of their commercial truck tires, but also analyses for early failure. As a result, the return on kilometre contracts can be optimised. The data can be evaluated both online and on location in Montfoort.

Kargro Groep

The Kargro Groep Holding, based in Montfoort, is involved in the circular processing of demounted truck and passenger car tires in the broadest sense of the word. On the one hand, the circular processing of tires focuses on recovering valuable raw materials from tires and, on the other hand, extending the lifespan of quality casings by applying special tire retreading techniques. These techniques allow the service life of a demounted commercial truck tire to be extended by a factor of three.

In addition to the circular processing of demounted tires, the Kargro Group is constantly on the lookout for product and process improvement, and thereby anticipates the increasing global demand for the circular reuse of valuable raw materials.

For the Kargro Group, sustainability is a condition for doing business together with global customers and governments on a similar wavelength.

The independent Kargro Group collaborates with tire producers, specialists, and universities to improve its products with regards to reuse and performance.  The Kargro Group is an excellent example of a sustainable business, for which the preservation of a healthy living environment and planet are paramount.

The Kargro Group has five subsidiaries, all of which play a specific role in circular tire processing.
